Rev. Elijah Sebuchu
May 26, 2008 -- The Rev. Elijah Sebuchu, Director of Global Discipleship Ministries, Kampala, Uganda, is visiting Trinity from May 31 through June 12. |
| Rev. Sebuchu will deliver the Sunday morning messages on June 8. He will also speak at the Trinity Youth Concert on Saturday, June 7, 7 pm - 9 pm. The concert follows a Rummage Sale that is open to the public, and runs from 8 am through 5 pm Saturday, June 7. Both the concert and the rummage sale benefit Rev. Sebuchu's Global Discipleship Ministries, which is fighting the HIV/AIDS crisis in Uganda, Africa.
Rev. Sebuchu first visited Trinity in December while in the United States to attend a Global HIV/AIDS Summit conference. He told the Trinity congregation about the HIV/AIDS crisis in Uganda, Africa, where millions have died and thousands of orphans need help, support, and love.
Trinity is responding through an HIV/AIDS task force headed by Jerry Slade and a Youth HIV/AIDS task force headed by Jake Espy. Assistant Youth Minister Ryan Tally visited Uganda earlier this year to see first-hand the crisis and Rev. Sebuchu's ministries. (See Past Feature Stories for more background information.)
Trinity is partnering with Rev. Sebuchu to help overcome the cycle of extreme poverty, lack of education, malnutrition, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.

RUMMAGE SALE

Trinity will sponsor a rummage sale on June 7 that is open to the public. There will be great deals on clothing, housewares, toys, and more.
Proceeds from the sale will help fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Uganda, Africa through Rev. Elijah Sebuchu's Global Discipleship Ministries.
